Management and Coaching Staff

Steve Walker

Head Coach
Coach Walker is a vastly experienced coach with over two decades spent on the sidelines. The new OCFC boss is currently coaching at Vardar Soccer as their ‘07 MLS Next Academy team, in addition to being an assistant coach at Northwood University. OCFC leadership is beyond excited to welcome coach Walker into the OCFC family and to see where he can lead the club in 2024 and beyond.
Coach Walker is a native of Radcliffe, a small town outside of Manchester, England and currently resides in Saginaw, Michigan. The career coach details that his interest and passion for coaching soccer began at the young age of 16.

Vinnie Vasilevski

General Manager
Vinnie Vasilevski enters his fourth season with Oakland County FC and second season as General Manager after serving as the club’s Head Coach for 2021 and 2022. In his two seasons at the helm, Vasilevski led the club to a total record of 11-13-4 (W-L-T) and claimed the 2022 Michigan Milk Cup crown.
Prior to entering the coaching realm, Vasilevski played collegiately at Tiffin University (‘06 & ‘07), Saginaw Valley State (‘08), and Northwood (’11) with a one and a half year professional stint in Sweden with IFK Trelleborg (’09-’10).

Kirk Johnson

Assistant Coach
Entering his fourth year as an Assistant Coach, Kirk is a local staple to the soccer scene with 16 years of coaching experience. He’s earned a USSF National ‘D’ license, United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 2 license, and is currently in the process of earning the USC Advanced National Diploma.
Outside of the club, Kirk is coaching youth with Nationals Soccer Club, high school boys with Detroit Country Day, and high school girls with Waterford Mott. Prior to coaching, Kirk played at Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY) and Traverse City Central High School.

Manuel Florescu

Assistant Coach
Manuel (Manu or Manny as known to his friends) is currently in his second season with the club. He’s earned a USSF National ‘C’ license.
Outside of the club, Manuel is coaching with Summit Soccer Club in Romeo. As head coach for the boys varsity team his trophy case includes a State Championship title as well as a National Championship title in 2022. Manuel is also a youth coach with Liverpool Football Club – Central. Prior to coaching Manuel played for Rochester University on a full soccer scholarship as well as on various youth academy teams for Romanian 1st League FCM Brasov & Romanian 2nd League IMASA Sfantu Gheorghe.

Trent Hopkins

Staff Assistant/Equipment Manager
A 2022 graduate of Central Michigan University, Trent comes to us with years of OCFC experience under his belt as an Operations Intern in 2021 and Equipment Manager in 2022 and 2023. Stemming from his passion in management, he’s always eager to help the staff in any manner.
When he’s not out there assisting the staff, Trent loves watching and playing soccer and supports Chelsea FC and the USMNT.

Joshua Priehs

Club Athletic Trainer
Joshua Priehs is also the head athletic trainer at Lamphere High School and coordinates coverage of athletic trainers in the state for various events. He graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor in Science (Athletic Training) and received his Masters shortly after from Wayne State University in Sports Administration.
Josh has been an athletic trainer now for 14 years. Licensed in the state of Michigan and a member of the National Athletic trainers Association, “working with OCFC the last few years (I’ve been there from the start), has been amazing. I enjoy watching the experience grow every year!”

Operations Staff

Joe Chevalier

Promotional Videographer
After interning with the broadcast crew last year, Joe has been hired back at OCFC. This time he will be working on promotional videos as needed for the club.
He obtained his Associate’s degree in video production in December 2022 from Macomb Community College. He’d like to thank Grace, Nick, & Theo for helping him (hopefully) begin a career in sports media. Joe will be attending Wayne State University this fall on track to complete his Bachelor’s degree in media in 2-3 years time.
Joe is looking forward to a successful summer helping the club.

Robert Kerr

Communications Manager & Broadcast Play-by-Play Commentator
As Communications Dir., Kerr provides club communications and administrative services, community outreach, and Play-by-Play commentary. Since joining the club in 2018 as our staff writer, Kerr has become an ardent County supporter and has passionately taken on a number of media responsibilities.
Kerr has been covering American soccer since 2014, is the current host of the Michigan Soccer Central Podcast, and enjoys coaching youth soccer.

Mitch Gatzke

Club Reporter & Broadcast Color Commentator
Mitch Gatzke fell in love with soccer after graduating college in 2015. Despite playing a bit in high school, he didn’t truly catch the fever until he began working for local clubs. Mitch says the way the game brings people together and builds community is what attracted him most.
Now the self-proclaimed “local soccer booster” can be found somewhere pitchside nearly every weekend throughout the summer months. You can strike up a conversation with Mitch about any team in any sport. Guaranteed he has at least a little something to say. Other interests include just about any kind of music, just about any kind of food, and absolutely every kind of dog.
