Oakland County Football club looks to put a bow on the 2022 season when it takes on Kalamazoo Football Club Friday night.
After a non-ideal start to the season on the field, County has gone an impressive 6-3-1 over its last 10 matches, hitting the back of the net 26 times. The Purple Gang has also done a fantastic job at limiting scoring opportunities for opponents. The Purple Gang allowed just 18 scores over that same stretch, including a clean sheet against Midwest United FC on June 5th.
The uptick in scoring has been in large part thanks to OCFC’s Keith Larson. Larson, in his first year with the squad, enters the final match as the team-high goalscorer, and is just one goal short of the single-season club record of 10, set by Mario Morana in 2019.
Malvin Gblah has been a spark plug for County, providing five goals so far this season off the bench with three of them coming in the last five contests. Caleb Norris has been a stud between the posts all season, averaging just 2.26 goals allowed per game and racking up 32 saves. Fellow County keeper Andrew Nicholsen has also contributed, the MSU junior came off the bench and provided a spectacular win clinching save in Lansing last Friday.
We welcome special guests, Ghost Garden to the main stage for a live music performance at tomorrow’s match! 🤘
