County forward Keith Larson got the scoring started off quickly in the last home game, notching his first goal of the season in the fifth minute of the contest to give County the early advantage. MUFC struck back shortly after in the 13th minute, with the teams heading into the locker room tied at 1-1.
The Purple Gang took control of the match quickly after that, ultimately picking up three scores in the second half by way of midfielder Malvin Gblah, forward Dade DiMaggio and yet another tally from Larson.
Man of the Match Keith Larson finished with two goals and one assist, going the full 90 minutes of the match. Head coach Vinnie Vasilevski praised Larson after his dominant performance.
“Keith is really dangerous,” Vasilevski said. “Everytime he gets the ball he looks to penetrate to the goal. I think that’s something that we’ve really been missing this year and it’s contagious; once you see him do it, you see other players do it.”

Vasilevski credits the work the squad has done to solidify the team’s defense with the improvement over the last few weeks.
“We lowered the block, made sure everyone got behind the ball and then decided when to press on our own,” Vasilevski said. “Everyone has a responsibility, I think that’s made it easier for our team to defend and takes pressure off the back line.”
OCFC vaulted two places in the standings behind six total goals on the weekend, placing them squarely in the hunt with almost two months of the season to go. The team has two matches set for this upcoming weekend, a Friday tilt on the road against the Flint City Bucks at 7 PM and a Sunday home bout with Lansing City at 3:00 PM
Vailevksi gave his thoughts on the upcoming matchups.
“They’re going to be good, we just gotta prepare all week,” Vasilevski said. “I don’t take anyone lightly and I don’t take any wins for granted.”
