Oakland County FC returns home to Clawson Stadium Wednesday night, following a pair of draws on their two game road trip. County now look to add to their win column against Kalamazoo FC in the midweek matchup. Oakland County FC will play again at Clawson City Park Stadium, on Saturday night, to play Grand Rapids FC. County will look to secure maximum points at home this week in order to keep up the pace in the highly competitive USL2 Great Lakes Division.
County found themselves involved in two thrillers on the road last week, scoring seven times in the two games, but recording just two points. The first of which was a 5-5 affair against Toledo Villa FC, on Tuesday 5/26. Nebojsa Popovic earned “Man of the Match” honors, scoring two goals and adding two assists. The excitement continued in a 2-2 tie against Fort Wayne FC, on Sunday afternoon, with each team scoring a goal in the final 10 minutes. Louis Sala scored the second goal of the game, and his first of the season, earning him Sunday’s “Man of the Match” award for his performance. Nebojsa Popovic now leads the team in goals after scoring three goals on the road trip, taking his early season total to five goals.

Wednesday night’s opponent, Kalamazoo FC, is yet to lose a game this year. The visitors sit atop the divisional standings after earning three wins and a draw so far. Kalamazoo is led by Cyrus Harmon, who leads his team with three goals this season. Kalamazoo’s goalkeeper, Parker Smith, has made an impact by recording nine saves and a 75% save percentage. Their defense has also only allowed three goals in their first four games. In the previous meeting between the two clubs, Oakland County FC defeated KZFC in the 2019 Milk Cup quarter final.
