Trio Of Goals Carry OCFC to 3-1 Victory
Oakland County FC celebrated a second straight victory after defeating Livonia City FC of the Michigan Premier Soccer League in a Mother’s Day friendly matchup. Goals from Javier Steinwascher, Kevin Pinkos and newcomer Adam Clauss were enough to secure the 3-1 win in the first meeting all time between the two clubs.
Holding possession for a majority of the first half, OCFC was finally able to break the deadlock in the 40th minute as Steinwascher (University of Indianapolis) finished off a nice attacking run via the assist from Mario Morana (Marygrove College). The goal was his first of the season, as the game also marked his first appearance of the season. Coming off the bench early for an injured Abdoulie Jallow, Steinwascher gave a strong performance and tested the LCFC back line on multiple occasions.
The second half saw a completely new lineup for OCFC, but they didn’t skip a beat as they were able to continue to the dominate the possession. In the 70th minute, multiple shots let to a scramble in front of net that was finished off by Midfielder, Kevin Pinkos (University of Detroit Mercy). Also on his season debut, Pinkos helped draw the free kick that eventually led to his goal. A cross from Kaveon Dux (Oakland University) was smashed home by Adam Clauss in the 79th minute to cap off the scoring for the home team. Clauss, a recent graduate of Detroit Mercy made his OCFC debut after playing last Summer with PLA East rival, the Muskegon Risers. Forward, Azaad Liadi (SVSU) also made his debut with the Purple and Gold, getting the start before being subbed off to start the second half.
