Morana And Messick Re-Sign For 2017

Oakland County Football Club is pleased to welcome back Midfielder, Mario Morana and Defender, Ryan Messick for the 2017 season.

Morana, the Sterling Heights native, was a key contributor for the club last season and netted 3 goals.

Collegiately, Morana just completed his Senior season at Marygrove College where he was awarded Offensive Player of the Week for WHAC Athletics of the NAIA and finished with a team-high 25 points (10 goals and 5 assists).

 

“Mario’s composure will really make a difference for us in the Midfield, we are happy to have him back.” said Coach Nick Morana. The brother of Coach Morana, Mario also has ties with new Assistant Coach Mathius Johnnson, who was his coach at Marygrove College.

 

Last season, Messick started in all 14 matches played as he manned the back line both inside and outside.

A Point Pleasant, WV native, Ryan played collegiately for the Anderson University Trojans where he made 56 starts in 79 appearances while netting 11 goals and tallying 10 assists. Ryan also played with the West Virginia Chaos of the USL PDL prior to relocating to Michigan.

“Ryan is a stout defender. A simple player that you can always rely on in the back line.” Coach Morana.

 


Oakland County FC kicks off the season against AFC Ann Arbor on Sunday, April 30th in a pre-season friendly at Saline High School before hosting Ole Soccer Club (Grand Rapids, MI) for the Premier League of America home opener on Saturday, May 6th at Royal Oak High School.
